Homeless Shelter has Man Arrested for Trespassing

October 20, 2011

On October 19, 2011, St. Mary’s County deputies responded to the Three Oaks Homeless Shelter in Lexington Park for a report of a trespasser.

Investigation revealed Steven Wayne Carter, 52, of no fixed address, did not have a lawful reason for being on the shelter property and was asked by the staff to leave. Deputies instructed Carter to leave the property. Carter left, but deputies were called back a short time later after Carter refused to leave again.

Carter was arrested and charged with trespassing.

Yea – if he was disorderly and previously asked to leave because of it then he is tresspassing. You can’t go there and act like a moron and expect them to let you stay there. Not saying he did that but that’s how I take it.

Even homeless shelters have standards as to whom they allow on the property.

What don’t you understand? It is obvious that for reasons not noted he is banned from the homeless shelter. It is not anyone’s business as to why. Point is, he is not allowed to be on the property and he broke the law.

guess I am commenting on the statement – a homeless (of no fixed address) man had no lawful reason to be at a homeless shelter. I, too, anticipate some thing/action/deed, caused him to be asked to leave.
