Letter to the Editor ~ The Silent Majority is Rising

Associated Press writer Alicia Caldwell reports that a majority of illegal immigrants admitted to crossing the border because they are seeking amnesty and want to collect public benefits!

This information was obtained from in-person interviews with illegal immigrants conducted by the U.S. Customs and Border Protection Office of Intelligence.

The Obama administration’s intentional lack of enforcement combined with willing sanctuary states and local governments has encouraged this behavior.

As a result of not enforcing our Nation’s laws, the fiscal health of our Country is worsening. The budgets of State and local governments are constrained – many have increased taxes to pay for the benefits. Meanwhile, thousands of immigrants stand in line to LEGALLY enter the United States. It’s no wonder so many Americans do not trust their government.

As far back as 2007, the Congressional Budget Office stated that:

“State and local governments incur costs for providing services to unauthorized (sic) immigrants and have limited options for avoiding or minimizing those costs.”

America has $18 trillion of debt. This is not sustainable. Moreover, Democrats in Maryland have successfully lobbied for and passed “In-State Tuition for Illegal Aliens”. They have effectively rewarded illegal behavior.

Our grandparents would be horrified that the land of “legal immigration to work” has been replaced with “illegal immigration to welfare”. We must renew America as an Opportunity Society and a nation of laws, so as to ensure the economic interests of the American people – and the safety & security of our Homeland.

In the meantime, the silent majority is rising.

I don’t believe immigrants are the problem.
The Pew Research Center studies show: “From 2009 to 2014, 1 million Mexicans and their families (including U.S.-born children) left the U.S. for Mexico, according to data from the 2014 Mexican National Survey of Demographic Dynamics (ENADID). U.S. census data for the same period show an estimated 870,000 Mexican nationals left Mexico to come to the U.S., a smaller number than the flow of families from the U.S. to Mexico.”

This means that if it was the problems, we should see improvement.

It is easier to blame a non-problem than to face the fact we don’t know how to correct the real problem- that the corporations are running this country, making millions/billions and hiding their money overseas, so they don’t have to pay taxes and help support the county.

Corporations are now paying less tax than they have in over 100 years.
The GAO reported in 2008 that “two out of every three United States corporations paid no federal income taxes from 1998 through 2005.”
GAO also reported tax differences from1955 to 2010:
Corporate Taxes as a Percentage of Federal Revenue
    1955 . . . 27.3%
    2010 . . . 8.9%
Corporate Taxes as a Percentage of GDP
    1955 . . . 4.3%
    2010 . . . 1.3%
Individual Income/Payrolls as a Percentage of Federal Revenue
    1955 . . . 58.0%
    2010 . . . 81.5%

This is just the top non-taxpayers. The Fortune 500 list at the same levels is even longer.

Teddy Roosevelt took care of this problem when it happened over a century ago.

As for the illegal immigrants that get in-state tuition- it is just those students that have been in the Maryland school system for YEARS and we are just continuing the investment a little longer.

If you believe like “FlutterNana” that this is not a problem please post your address so we can move them next door to you. I bet your opinion would change instantly. Then we will move the Syrian refugees across the street from you. Liberals always work with fuzzy math please post your data source so the real math can be performed.

Mr. Fisher, I agree with you and I am a frustrated 20 yr Navy vet that wants my country back and to be ruled by a constitutional government. Thank you.
