Not sure why Chick Fil A is even allowed to be there as its a corporate fast food chain and also donates to anti gay charities. Is that the kind of image La Plata wants? They’re not welcome in the community.

So it’s OK for Target to support transgender bathrooms but Chick fil A can’t express their views by not supporting what you believe? If you don’t like what is going on here then stay home!

I hate to say this but I agree with Tell You What. Chick Fil A is corporate and if you scroll through the list it appears to be the only one. La Plata is a small town, and doesn’t need a corporate influence at their event. Target has nothing to do with this but I do believe there is an article on the main page that does if you took the time to read it.

I live in the town of La Plata. The local managers and outreach team for Chick Fil A are wonderful people and donate a ton of time, food and money into our local community. If you don’t agree with the corporation’s political views, and don’t want to support them, then don’t buy from them. It’s really that simple. I don’t personally agree with the corporation’s views either, but I can guarantee you shop at places that feel the same way and aren’t willing to publicly state their stance.

Anyone who wants to sign up to be part of the event is typically welcome to do so. All events that are held for the town include activities and food. Chick Fil A sells food. That’s the reason they are there. There is no “corporate influence”.

If the towns invites the Westboro Baptist Church, we have a whole new discussion.

      Just my two cents.

So you now speak for the people of LA Plata? Didn’t see your name on the ballot.

Didn’t see yours either so quit being a troll and leave.

As long as it doesn’t turn out to be a LGBT fest, I’m in. So glad to see Chik Filet support the town, I love their Christian beliefs and great chicken meals. If you don’t like Christian values, or Christian people, just stay away. We will not be offended by your lack of participation. Maybe you should check out Island Music, they are very supportive of gay and lesbian folks and strongly support that lifestyle. Good luck.

Sounds like you’re one of the sheep that flocks to that place. You’re an idiot.

Sounds like you are “tanked”. Why don’t you call you sponsor and stay out of the comments section until you sober up? There are so many programs out there for people like you, check into it.

Call you sponsor? Sorry I don’t speak Waldorf.

Here, I’ll spot you the “r”, now make the call. You are such a loser. Stop dogging your hometown, we can tell you are from the Dorf. Own it!

This is still America, no? Anyone willing to support the community should be able to, so long as they aren’t breaking the law.

  5. CP3 on April 30, 2016 at 1:34 pm

BTW, calling people names is no way to win an argument. It’s just bad, disrespectful behavior.
