FootGolf Course Premiers at Chesapeake Hills Golf Course This Weekend

ChesHills GOLFThe Calvert County Division of Parks and Recreation will unveil a FootGolf course at the Chesapeake Hills Golf Course in Lusby, May 14.

The first course of its kind in Southern Maryland, FootGolf is a precision sport requiring players to kick a soccer ball into a cup, located yards away from the golf greens, by using as few attempts as possible. FootGolf is quickly growing in popularity in the United States and around the world.

Chesapeake Hills Golf Course will hold the FootGolf course grand opening at 3 p.m. during the golf course’s annual Spring Fling event. This new course consists of 18 American FootGolf League (AFGL)-certified holes, with two sets of tees to match any skill level. Players can bring their own soccer ball or balls can be rented or purchased at our pro shop.

About the Course
Chesapeake Hills features 6,545 yards of golf from the longest tees for a par of 72. The course rating is 72.3 and it has a slope rating of 126. Designed by Jim Thompson, Chesapeake Hills opened in 1968.

The golf course features Bermuda grass fairways on gently rolling hills surrounded by towering trees. Several lakes and creeks meander through the course, providing scenic beauty and golfing challenges. After a great round of golf, enjoy a fantastic meal and a refreshing beverage at The Chesapeake Grille Room.

Recent Course Improvements
Chesapeake Hills is now owned by Calvert County and operated by Calvert County Parks & Recreation. With more than $1.5 million in recent course improvements, Chesapeake Hills offers great golf and satisfying services. We have just completed installation of our new 890 head irrigation system.     Not true. There’s one at White Plains Park. They’ve had it for at least 2 years.
