Duke is a 4-year old, American Bulldog mix looking for his forever family. He came to SMAWL when his owner moved and was unable to keep him. Duke is well-mannered, house trained, and crate trained. He is working on basic obedience commands with his foster family. Duke gets along great with other dogs, kids and cats. His foster family has a dog, two cats, and young children. He adjusted very well and learned good behaviors like not sitting on the furniture very quickly. Duke is healthy—current on all vaccinations and neutered. He enjoys being outside, so his family should have a fenced yard or be willing to take him for walks.

If you are looking for a fun, loving canine companion please meet Duke. He is ready to bring happiness into your home.

A little bit of breed information:
Mixed breed dogs are generally healthier than purebred because they draw from a broader gene pool. When adopting a mixed breed dog, focus more on personality rather than breed. This can help so that you appreciate the dog even more. Love him on his own terms and he will love you back more.

“He is your friend, your partner, your defender, your dog. You are his life, his love, his leader. He will be yours, faithful and true, to the last beat of his heart. You owe it to him to be worthy of such devotion.”
