UPDATE – Official Press Release: Maryland State Police are investigating a possible attempted murder suicide in St. Mary’s County. The deceased is identified as James Daniel Dean, 48, of the 43,000 block of Johnson Road in Hollywood, Maryland. Dean was pronounced dead at the scene and transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner for an autopsy.

The victim is identified as Angela Dean, 43, also of the 43,000 block of Johnson Road in Hollywood. Angela is the wife of the deceased and is currently being treated at the Prince George’s Hospital Trauma Unit for gunshot wounds.

Shortly before midnight last night, the St. Mary’s County Emergency Communications Center received a 9-1-1 call from Angela Dean. She reported having an argument with James and that he was in the process of loading a gun. During the phone call, which lasted less than one minute, noise that sounded like gun shots were heard in the background.

Patrol units from the Maryland State Police Leonardtown Barrack and deputies from the St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office immediately responded to the scene. After forcing entry into the residence, James Dean was located on the living floor with an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound. Emergency medical personnel pronounced him deceased at the scene.

Angela was found nearby with apparent gunshot wounds and was provided immediate emergency medical treatment. She was flown by State Police Medevac, Trooper 7, to the PGH Trauma Unit where she currently remains.

Crime scene technicians from the Maryland State Police Forensic Sciences Division responded to process the scene. Sheriff deputies from the St. Mary’s Sheriff’s Office responded to assist. Investigators from the Maryland State Police Homicide Unit and the Criminal Enforcement Division/Central South continue the investigation.

1/10/14 @ 9:30a.m.: On Thursday, January 9, 2014 at 11:45 pm, St. Mary’s County Sheriffs Deputies and Troopers from Leonardtown Barrack of the  Maryland State Police responded to the 43000 block of Johnson Road in Hollywood for shots fired complaint.

Law Enforcement arrived and observed a male and female lying motionless inside, and forced entry into the apartment . Once inside, police found the male lying on the floor deceased with what appeared to be a single self-inflicted gunshot to the head.

The female was also on the floor with several gunshot wounds to her abdomen.The female was flown out to an area trauma center, where her condition is unknown at this time.

Maryland State Police are continuing to investigate.

    what happen was there was a fight and that was stared of her seeing someone else so he got mad also even be for that she had a broken army and had a few puches to her face and was taken by helicopter to the fire apartment which the helicopter was weighting the man lay there at 6;05 the family came to see weather it was them or not at 7;34 the body of the man was taken to a lab were then the man was to be found with the gum powder in which who shot who after that the people who were also in the home were a old couple in there 50s who owned the home the couple who were shot rented the place from the old couple now you may say how i know this well its free speech

    My prayers go out to this woman and her family. My sister was murdered in a domestic murder-suicide. Ms. Dean is lucky to be alive and I wish her all the best in her physical and emotional recovery.

      once again : first of all I am the one in the brick house and I haven’t said one word about the incident cause iam not allowed to say anything do to the hipa act.
