John Figgins, Jr.John William Figgins, Jr., 50 of Brandywine, MD passed away on October 28, 2014 at MedStar Southern Maryland Hospital Center in Clinton, MD. He was born on February 6, 1964 in Washington, D.C., to the late John William Figgins, Sr. and the late Louis Marie Blake.

John was a good family man, dad and grandfather. He loved his family, was a hard worker and a great provider who would do anything for his family. He was one of a kind. John enjoyed hunting with his son, fishing, crabbing and watching football. His favorite team was the Washington Redskins.

In addition to his parents, John was predeceased by his stepmother, Lillian Talbot; sister, Ann Coates; and his close friends, Rick Dunn, Binky, Buddy, Matt and William Jackson.

John is survived by his loving wife of 30 years, Patricia L. (Rowley) Figgins; children, Patricia Davis Figgins, Christina Figgins, Kimberly Garcia Figgins, Jessica Lada Figgins, and John W. Figgins, III; brother, Walter Whiteside; sisters, Martha Whiteside Leigh and Nancy Ciancio; three grandsons; ten granddaughters; his close friends, David Boarman, Robert Holderness, James Cavanaugh, Pete Lusby, Keith Jones, Kevin Mowatt, Paco Lugo, Joe Williams, Cliff Reed, Robert Gregory, III, Mac aka “Big Mac”, James Rowley, Larry Rowley, Robert Lada, David Davis, and James Wathen; and many other friends in his hunting crew and Mt. Ranier crew.

Family and friends will be received for John’s Life Celebration on Friday, October 31, 2014 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Brinsfield-Echols Funeral Home, P.A., 30195 Three Notch Road, Charlotte Hall, MD 20622. A Funeral Service will be held at the funeral home on Saturday, November 1, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Charles Memorial Gardens, 26325 Point Lookout Road, Leonardtown, MD 20650.
