Fire During Hurricane Irene

On 8/27/11 during the wrath of Hurricane Irene, Stations 3, 13, 9, 6 39, 38 & W/S 5 were alerted to the 46000 Block of Rogers Drive at 8:35pm for the House on Fire. Engine 33 & Truck 3 responded and arrived within one minute reporting a 2 story, end of the row unit with fire and smoke showing. Engine 132 from NAVAIR arrived on scene next laying a line into 33. Engine 33 advanced a 1.75″ line through the front door finding a hallway and kitchen on fire and quickly extinguished the same. Truck 3 assisted the engine company with opening up and checking for extension. Engine 132’s crew advanced a secondary line to the front door for back up. Fire Chief 3 held the Rogers Drive Command. All units cleared at 9:30pm.
