Annmarie After Hours & Exhibit Opening on Oct.14

October 4, 2011

Annmarie Sculpture Garden & Arts Center recently announced that they will be hosting the Annmarie After Hours event, Friday, October 14 from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m in conjunction with the opening of two new exhibits – Toys: Re-Invent, Re-Imagine, Re-Discover and Imagine a World…

Annmarie After Hours offers adults an evening full of art, wine, beer and light hor d’oeuvres – catered by local favorite, Lotus Kitchen – as well as live musical entertainment by Kevin Amos.  Held inside the Arts Center, Annmarie After Hours attendees will have an exclusive preview of the newest exhibits:

.         In the main gallery, the Toys – Re-Invent, Re-Imagine, Re-Discover exhibit showcases toys and children’s playthings as the inspiration and subject matter for the artwork displayed.  Creating a playful, amusing, nostalgic, and poignant commentary on the role toys have or had in everyday life, the Toys exhibit conjures both treasured and moving memories of childhood, past friendships, and other recollections.  The Toys exhibit will open October 14 and continue through January 8, 2012.

·         In the Mezzanine Gallery, the Imagine a World… exhibit takes people on a journey of personal expressions and global issues.  Made up of three woman artists, each piece tells a story such as family traditions, cooking, natural habitations, or sailing.  The colorful and narrative drive of each artist creates this series of work that is both personal and universal.  The Imagine a World…exhibit is currently open and will continue through January 29, 2012.

Admission to the Annmarie After Hours is $5.00 per person (or $4.00 for members).  Annmarie After Hours is open to 21 years of age and over.  For more information about Annmarie After Hours or the two exhibits, go to
