With a desire to be educated in leading-edge treatment protocols, our physicians devote themselves to providing safe, high-quality care to all their patients.”
Doctors’ Day was first observed March 30, 1933. Since then, it is celebrated annually to acknowledge the anniversary of the first use of general anesthetic in surgery on March 30, 1842 by physician Crawford Long. In 1990, President George Bush signed a resolution designating March 30 as National Doctors’ Day, the first of which was celebrated in 1991.
MedStar St. Mary’s will be celebrating its medical professionals on April 2 with a fellowship breakfast and a special gift to them. We are thankful not just on Doctors’ Day, but every day for the world-class service our Medical Staff provides our community.
