Duplex Fire in Lexington Park

IMG_1359On Sunday, March 29, 2015 at approximately 6:48 a.m., firefighters from Bay District and Second District Volunteer Fire Departments along with Patuxent River Naval Air Station Fire Department were alerted to a two story wood framed duplex on fire.

Upon arrival at 21327 Windsor Drive in Lexington Park, 24 firefighters worked quickly to extinguish the fire.

One occupant was transported to MedStar St. Mary’s Hospital for smoke inhalation.

Smoke detectors were present but did not activate.

Maryland State Fire Marshall’s preliminary cause was deemed to be accidental – originating in a bedroom. The fire caused moderate damage to the home.

The seven occupants, including four children, were displaced from the residence and are being assisted by family members.

Estimated damage in the amount of $80,000.00.
