Foundation 4 Heroes Special Trip

June 9, 2015

National Rehab CenterBatman and Hulkster made a long trip to Washington, D.C. last week to appear on TV’s WJLA to help promote the Wounded Warrior Amputee Softball Game against some NFL stars at the Bowie Baysox Stadium June 6th.

If you haven’t seen the video, check out the Foundation 4 Heroes facebook page as it is hilarious.

Afterward, both volunteers of the nonprofit organization went to National Center for Children’s Rehabilitation to visit a very special patient.

Kiersten is one of the local kids the Wildewood Shopping Center, Foundation 4 Heroes and the Southern Maryland Jeepers, joined forces to raise money for on May 30th.

They visited with some of the nurses and another special little boy who had some serious burns but he was a heck of an artist. He explained all about the tape dispenser he drew. There’s a lot of spirit in these little heroes.

Eventually Kiersten and her Dad appeared and they were able to give her a hug, a check, a Spiderman necklace, cape and mask. She sure did light up. Dad was also very thankful as the costs add up when you face this type of scenario.

Here is a cute picture of Anthony, aka, Batman, with Kiersten. She is really doing well and Foundation 4 Heroes look forward to doing more for her at the end of the month.
