At least one person came away from this year’s Festival of Trees with a lot more than pleasant memories of beautifully decorated trees. Nancy Hill of Huntingtown was thrilled to find out she was the winner of the 2013 “Spree Tree” valued at more than $3,400 of donated merchandise. Hill, a long-time supporter of Calvert Hospice can’t wait to share her winnings with her family, especially a grandson who will be excited with a special Christmas gift this year.
Donations included gift certificates to area restaurants, beauty and spa treatments, and assorted merchandise. Donors to the 2012 Spree Tree included: AH Hatcher, Inc., B&L Biz, BayFish Seafood, Brad and Linda Gottfried, CalvART Gallery, Carmen’s Gallery, Chesapeake Bay Reiki and Reflexology, The Bay Healing Arts Center, Chesapeake Hills Golf Course, Linzy and Brenda Laughhunn, Circle of Care, College of Southern Maryland, Hilton Garden Inn – Solomons, Infinite Errands, Maggie Moo’s Ice Cream, Mama Lucia Southern Italian Cuisine, Nick’s of Calvert, Dr. Raymon Nobel, Panera Bread, Saphron Restaurant, Scalped Salon and Spa, WineShop at Home, Winter Sunlight, and World Gym.
“We are so grateful to all the businesses that made donations to support Calvert Hospice and the Festival of Trees “Spree Tree,” stated Brenda Laughhunn, Executive Director. “It was fun to see how excited Nancy Hill was when she learned that she was this year’s winner.”
