Our gift to you! All are invited to attend the Christmas Open House at the St. Clement’s Island Museum on Saturday, December 8 with free admission! Fees are waived this day to enjoy the 27th Annual Christmas Doll & Train Exhibit, holiday refreshments, and a program of fun and festivity!
Santa and Mrs. Claus will be on hand from 12 noon to 2 p.m. to greet children and parents alike and listen to those very special Christmas wishes. At 2:30 p.m. the Southern Maryland Sound Barbershop Quartet will sing holiday tunes and standards in barbershop style everyone will enjoy. Meet a colonial re-enactor portraying the 17th-century character Dr. Thomas Gerard explaining the origin of the famous song “Twelve Days of Christmas” and playing heritage games with the kids from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.
The Crab Claw Museum Store offers an array of holiday gifts, even crab pot Christmas trees and nautical ornaments.
The Doll & Train exhibit has been a St. Mary’s County tradition for 27 years and offers a wide selection of vintage and collectible dolls, toys and working miniature trains to delight kids of all ages! A free boy’s and girl’s bike raffle is also available thanks to this donation by the 7th District Optimist Club. Free punch, cookies, chocolate tasting and the warmth of museum staff and volunteers round out a great holiday experience. The exhibit will be available through December 31 but call ahead for the holiday schedule.
