Dolores Jane Suter-Witcher, “Dola”, 85

WITCHER PHOTODolores Jane Suter-Witcher (Dola to all her family and friends), 85 of Lexington Park, MD,  daughter of the late William Gough-Mills and Dolores Costello, raised by her beloved grandmother, Moddy Ellen Mills, was born on August 30, 1930 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.  She entered into eternal life on December 20, 2015.

Dolores was educated in the public school system in St. Mary’s County Maryland.  She served 2 years in the US Army as a nurse and worked as a chef at the Charlotte Hall Veterans Home, retiring after 30 years of faithful service.  She was a loving and caring woman.  She loved people and enjoyed spending time with family and friends.  She loved to dance, play cards, bingo, reading poetry and would give you her last of whatever she had. Her favorite poem was, “Crossing the Bar” by Alfred Lord Tennyson.

She was preceded in death by her parents, William Gough-Mills and Dolores Costello; grandmother, Moddy Ellen Mills; first husband, Joseph E. Suter; second husband, Joseph H. Witcher; her son, Earl Van Suter; daughter, Ellen Delores Suter; grandson, Spencer Mobley; great-granddaughter, Tequila Suter.

She leaves to cherish her memory:  Her daughters Dianne Jewettetahoo-Suter (Teeco), Mable (Tammy) Anderson and son James (Jimmy) Suter.

Grandchildren: Roxanna Battle, Marvin T. Clark, Michael L. Clark, Allen J. Clark, Sharon Suter, Dominique Suter, Christopher Suter and Dewayne Mobley. Great-grandchildren: Allen Clark, Jr., Anthony Clark, Mira Clark, Ellen Mobley-Spears, Michelle Mobley, Tyshia Mobley, Jayden Suter, Zanisha Suter and Mikayla Logan.  Great-great-grandchildren: Diamante Butler, Daejawhn Butler, Si’RayahHall-Mobley, Si’Niyah Mobley and Si’Yah Hall Ashton Brown Jr.

Stepchildren: Gladys June, Dorothy Horton-Brown, Margaret (MC) Forrest, Joan (Barbara) Barnes, Rose (Ronnie) Barnes, Virginia (Poodie) Young, Monica (Teelee) Biscoe, Emma (Cece) Young, Brenda (Girl) Butler, Joseph (Timmy) Young, William (Billy)Young; David Young; John (Pot) Young, Bryant Young, Colvin (Coco) Young, Sr., Keith Young, and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family members and very special friends, Rose, Sylvia Clyburn, Bettie Goforth and Juanita Thompson.

A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, December 29, 2015 at 12 noon at Powerhouse Apostolic Ministry, 47316 Lincoln Avenue, Lexington Park MD 20653.
