St. Mary’s County Government Updated Operational Status

St. Mary's SealWith snow now falling across the County, much of county government operations have either been suspended or will cease operations.

The following is an update on county operations:

  • All St. Mary’s County Administrative Offices are closed
  • St. Mary’s Transit (STS) service suspended through Sunday
  • The six (6) convenience centers and St. Andrews landfill are closed and will remain
    closed throughout the weekend
  • All Recreation and Parks programs are canceled. All facilities, including Museums,
    are also closed through Sunday.
  • All three Senior Activity Centers are closed
  • All three St. Mary’s Library locations are closed and remain closed through Sunday
  • St. Mary’s County Circuit and District Courts are closed
  • MetCom offices are closed
  • All CSM campuses are closed through Sunday
  • NAS Patuxent River initiated a staggered departure as at noon. Non-critical personnel will depart by 3 p.m. Base will be on Restricted Access as of 3 p.m. thru Sunday

Helpful reminders

Should MetCom customers encounter water or sewer service issues during the storm, call MetCom’s Emergency Call Center at 301-373-5305.

Citizens can report power outages by calling SMECO at 1-877-747-6326 (SMECO). To view their outage map go to SMECO Outage Map.

St. Mary’s County has opened its Emergency Operations Center to manage snow and emergency operations through the duration of the storm. Citizens with questions or in need of information can call 301-475-4911.
