UPDATE: Suspicious Package Evacuates Building in Charles County

Fire Marshal Bomb SquadUPDATE: On Thursday, March 31, 2016, at 3:38 p.m., police responded to 4475 Regency Place, in White Plains, for the report of a suspicious device.

A suspicious package arrived in the mail, and was discovered by an employee of the Maryland Independent Newspaper.

Members from the Maryland State Marshals Office responded and an X-ray of the package was in inconclusive and remotely opened to reveal no explosive contents.

The incident remains under an active investigation. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Bomb Squad Office at 410-859-7152.

3/31/2016: On Thursday, March 31, 2016 at approximately 4:00 p.m., police responded to 4475 Regency Place, in White Plains for a suspicious package.

The Maryland Independent newspaper and neighboring businesses have been evacuated.

Police are on the scene, and members of the bomb squad are responding.
