SMNEWSNNET will be at the first “St. Mary’s County Blue Out”. The event was started as a way to show support for our local deputies and state troopers by wearing blue, creating banners, singing, and carrying balloons!
The event will be going on today at the Maryland State Police Leonardtown Barrack, at 23200 Leonard Hall Drive, in Leonardtown, from 9:00 a.m. to Noon.

Just a few reminders for Saturday morning:
1. This is an informal event and there are no planned speeches or events. It’s a time for the citizens of our community to show our officers solidarity, support, and respect. We will be there from 9:00 a.m. – Noon, join us for 15 minutes, an hour, or the whole time!
2. We have had an overwhelming response to this gathering and first off, THANK YOU (!!!)
We want to remind everyone that there is no special parking for the “Blue Out”. All parking, traffic, and pedestrian laws are expected to be followed.
3. Keep an eye on the weather and plan for safety with shade, hydration, and ice!
We are HONORED to have the opportunity to stand with our friends and neighbors and show the dedicated women and men who protect our community that their citizens need and honor them. Come one, come all,#SMCBlueOut2016 #CelebratingCourage #CherishingLives
Please join us with Banners, Balloons, and Blue as we celebrate, sing, cheer, and recognize the bravery and courage of our state and county law enforcement officers. Each day they put their lives on the line to protect and preserve our way of life.
