D.C. Man Arrested in St. Mary’s County for Narcotic Possession with Intent to Distribute, Picks Up Additional Charges at Jail

On January 10, 2018, Cpl. Elizabeth O’Connor of the St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office responded to Gate Two of the Patuxent River Naval Air Station in Lexington Park for a warrant service.

The wanted subject, Mysean James Fox, 29, of Washington, D.C., had been detained by Department of Defense police officers. Fox was wanted on a Prince George’s County warrant for possession of a controlled dangerous substance with intent to distribute.

Upon making contact with Fox, Cpl. O’Connor asked Fox if he had an illicit items on him and warned him that if he brought contraband with him to the detention center, it would result in additional charges. Despite O’Connor’s stern warning, Fox denied having any contraband on him.

While being transported to the St. Mary’s County Detention Center, Fox abruptly spoke up and said he had “a little bit” of marijuana on him, and that it was located “under his (expletive).”

Upon arrival at the detention center, Fox was strip-searched and a larger plastic bag containing smaller plastic bags was recovered. Police opened the larger plastic bag and discovered a plastic baggie tied up in a knot. Inside the bag was another bag which contained an off-white rock. After determining the substance was cocaine, Mysean Fox was charged with possession of paraphernalia and possession of a controlled dangerous substance.
