Amish Furniture Market Destroyed by Fire

Maryland State Fire Marshalls are investigating a structure fire that has completely destroyed an Amish Furniture warehouse in Charlotte Hall.

Over 45 firefighters from Bel Alton, Hughesville, Newburg, La Plata, Waldorf, Mechanicsville, Benedict and Seventh District VFD’s responded to the blaze at Stoney Creek Furniture located at 9700 Bowling Drive on Nov. 16 at 12:45 a.m.

Crews arrived on the scene to discover heavy fire coming from a two story wood framed structure. After an hour of firefighting operations, the blaze was brought under control.

The structure and all of the contents were completely destroyed.

Damage amount is estimated to be $150,000.00

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
