Centennial Ceremony to Honor Harriet Tubman

Harriet TubmanTo mark 100 years since Harriet Tubman’s passing, private and public sector supporters of the preservation of Tubman’s legacy in her homeland on Maryland’s Eastern Shore will hold a centennial ceremony to remember the famed “conductor” of the Underground Railroad. The ceremony will include a Ribbon Cutting for the Harriet Tubman Underground Railroad Byway and a Groundbreaking of the Harriet Tubman Underground Railroad State Park.

Maryland Department of Natural Resources, Maryland Office of Tourism, Dorchester County Office of Tourism, Tourism Office of Caroline County, America’s Byways, Harriet Tubman Underground Railroad Byway, State Highway Administration, Department of Planning, Maryland Heritage Area, National Park Service, U.S .Fish and Wildlife Services on Saturday, March 9 at 10 a.m.
