It’s nice to see things like this being taken seriously. Stuff like this happens behind the scenes all the time.

  2. Anon on October 31, 2013 at 10:54 am

You stay classy Great Mills! I know there are probably some really good students mixed in with the bad but I wouldn’t be surprised if next year there was a “future drains on society” club at this school. The county needs to identify the kids with potential for good and send them to a better school to give them a chance!

    • Gill on October 31, 2013 at 12:41 pm

Its not the school, it’s the KID. Get a clue! Moving them to another school is hardly the answer. If they are “bad”, then they will be bad somewhere else. Wanting to better yourself comes from WITHIN….”send them to another school to give them a better chance”…you’re killin’ me.

      • Anon on October 31, 2013 at 2:09 pm

Gill read closer: I said move the good ones to a new school thereby leaving nothing but the bad ones all in one place. The good students could then focus on getting an education at their new school and not have to worry about the degenerates that like to cause problems “cuz they feels like it”.

The parents of these kids are far from innocent also and should be held accountable as well.

        • Barbara on October 31, 2013 at 3:39 pm

And how would you know “the parents of these kids are far from innocent”? I think that’s a pretty ignorant statement!

          • anonymous on October 31, 2013 at 9:35 pm

There is good & bad at EVERY school! Thanks to media & ignorance it only appears that all the “bad” are in GMHS….if you look deep enough you will find incidents like this, bullying, harrassment etc even in the finest of schools, all being covered up, & kept hush hush…ask the students, if they are honest, you will hear some true horror stories of daily incidence. Get real people, its not the school, its the child!

        • Gill on November 1, 2013 at 10:21 am

Ooops, sorry ! Unfortunately, parents ARE responsible for the children’s behavior. It’s probably safe to say in most cases that the child is a reflection of the parent.

  3. GMHS Parent on October 31, 2013 at 11:24 am

My daughter graduated in 2009 and my son will graduate this year from GMHS. I have had nothing but great experiences during all these years with the students and staff. It is important to remember that these students did this. NOT the school. NOT the staff. Lets stop blaming the school and hold these kids’ parents and the kids themselves responsible for their behavior. Somewhere along the lines, they learnd it is ok and acceptable to behave in such a manner.

    • Fred 50 on October 31, 2013 at 9:33 pm

Well think about it they even produced an electronic foot print of their threats! We can only hope the alleged rapers did the same to these girls so the charges can be jacked for witness tampering. A year in the slammer for 4th degree is just a slap on the wrist as it stands now.

  4. Anonymous on October 31, 2013 at 11:27 am

Seems like this school is going more and more downhill, i know for a fact that if a student reports any type of abuse whether it be physical, mental, sexual or whatever that could be happening in the home, the teacher is suppose to call Child Protective Services, trust me it’s not being done, my own nephew was visibly shaken and pale over a home situation and the teacher never reported it!!! Shame on her…

    • Anonymous on October 31, 2013 at 2:23 pm

Did you report it? Glass houses.

    • Anonymous on October 31, 2013 at 3:14 pm

how do you know it wasn’t reported? She may have reported it and it was screened out by CPS. There are a lot of situations that are bad situations but don’t fit the guidelines for investigation. Accusing a Mandated Reporter of not reporting something can be serious so make sure you know for sure that it wasn’t reported before posting things like this about the staff.

It amazes me of all of the garbage that is happening way down in the county. It is like a mini SE DC.. When you have a population like Great Mills has, you can not expect anything different.

    • Dixiebelle on October 31, 2013 at 4:32 pm

What the hell is “population like Great Mills supposed to mean?

    • anon on November 1, 2013 at 8:52 am

Lol @ SE DC. You are completely clueless… Please go hangout in SE and let me know if you change your mind.

  6. Outspoken on October 31, 2013 at 12:08 pm

Well, we can all hope that GMHS shapes up next year after Lord Calvert is closed!

    • YoureMom on October 31, 2013 at 3:58 pm

Lord Calvert the trailer park… why is it closing? I’ve have not heard of this.

    • Anon on November 1, 2013 at 10:25 am

Oh please tell me it is true! That dump has needed to be closed for YEARS!

I can’t believe these stupid little girls condone what happened to this poor victim. If I was their parent, I would be ashamed to call them my daughter. They are disgusting. If it happened to them, they would think differently. Wanna be thugs. I would love to pay them and the boys a visit.

    • Anon on November 1, 2013 at 10:24 am

I agree! This disgusted me. Maybe on of the rapists was one girls “boo” and then she got all these other girls to gang up on the victim. This poor girl. I hope this all is resolved soon. Send this girl to another school where she won’t be tortured and tormented. She can focus on her schoolwork and recovering and not being tortured by some wannabe thugs! These girls are horrible and disgusting wastes of space! I hope karma gets to them sooner rather than later!

  8. Anonymous on October 31, 2013 at 1:14 pm

They should have known she’d narc on them.

    • laurie on October 31, 2013 at 6:05 pm

You sound as if the victim is in the wrong for reporting them. Hopefully thats not what your implying.

      • Fred 50 on October 31, 2013 at 9:22 pm

you bet it is! That is why society is unraveling!

    • Anonymous on November 1, 2013 at 11:46 am

You would want your daughter, sister, mother, or friend to report a rape!! Who cares about being a narc!!

  9. Anonymous on October 31, 2013 at 2:01 pm

I would love to know how girls can gang up and threaten another girl after being raped. What’s going on in there heads. They may be raped someday.

    • Fred 50 on October 31, 2013 at 9:21 pm

it is called a break down in society. You can see where the peer pressure is or does not exist.

  10. A Parent...of a former student at GMHS on October 31, 2013 at 2:30 pm

The issues were far worse in 03′-04′,as my child’s life was threatened and we had to call cops ourselves because CONRAD was more concerned with missing her doctor appointment.

  11. ferd on October 31, 2013 at 3:16 pm

Of course, they could be in Leonardtown HS where the kids put nooses by the black kids lockers and heroin is sold in the hallways. It isn’t the school it is the kid!

    • Anonymous on October 31, 2013 at 3:38 pm

Unless you have been in the school and seen it happen don’t accuse it.

      • smh on October 31, 2013 at 6:43 pm

Blah blah! You people are so one sided. If you bunch of right wing snobs would come back to reality to realize that what goes at Great Mills goes on at Leonardtown & Ryken. You all just base your judgements on the fact GMHS is racially diverse and that is the ONLY reason why you all make the snobbish comments that you make.

        • Sherry on November 1, 2013 at 11:35 am

Really? I hadn’t heard that a rape victim in Leonardtown and Ryken is now being threatened. Oh that’s right – no one was raped in the bathroom in either school.

      • Anonymous on October 31, 2013 at 7:07 pm

Been there. Saw it myself. Reported it but it was covered up by admin and county power people who had relatives there.
Stop trying to deny facts and continue the coverup. The kids at Leonardtown are being damaged by the inaction.

      • anonymous on October 31, 2013 at 9:55 pm

        Oh it happened…..

    • Fred 50 on October 31, 2013 at 9:19 pm

      you think?

  12. Francisco on October 31, 2013 at 3:57 pm

The nation must start now by forming a secret police force to arrest the trouble makers. Throw them all in jail and let them rot!

    • smh on October 31, 2013 at 11:50 pm

That would make us no different than the Taliban. Grow up and stop being stupid
Anarchist! Right wing, separatist, Tom McVeigh wannabe

      • Francisco on November 1, 2013 at 10:56 am

It is different from the Taliban dummy! These students are wasting resources that could be used to enhance the education of those capable of advanced learning.
Do you know the definition of Anarchy? No!
        And who is Tom McVeigh?

        • smh on November 1, 2013 at 12:49 pm

TIm McVeigh….Anarchy means lawlessness. Due process isn’t implemented in a Taliban liked regime. I thought right wingers love and honor the “Constitution” so much. Make up your mind.

  13. Fred 50 on October 31, 2013 at 5:18 pm

It was nice they documented their threats on an electronic source. Hopefully if they can prove a link between these four to the perpetrators they should jack the charges up on them as well. They need a stronger charge than fourth degree which is only one year in the slammer with bubba! They need a lot more time to understand what they did was not acceptable.

  14. Me on November 1, 2013 at 10:42 am

LHS is just as bad. They had 10 students that got caught drinking at their homecoming last weekend!

    • Anonymous on November 1, 2013 at 12:53 pm

Is that why the ambulance and ALS car were at LHS the night of the homecoming?

    • smh on November 1, 2013 at 1:03 pm

Thanks for exposing the mischief that can go on in every society. Crime and mischief exist in EVERY neighborhood, every economic class, every dynasty, every school, sad to report this to the people that think because where they live, school, work, & etc that they are free from mischief or crime. People need to know that because things are reported doesn’t mean that it doesn’t exist. Look at the crimes at the high and mighty Penn State University by Sandusky. Keep your noses in the air because of your class in society and ignore Ivy league crimes that can be compared to the way these pompous people that think because Ryken is a private entity that mischief and crimes don’t exist. Wait until it is exposed and less political and commercial and you will open your eyes.

      • smh on November 1, 2013 at 3:21 pm

If those kids were of a certain ethnicity and attended GMHS it would have been reported on the evening TV news for drinking on school property.

  15. laurie on November 1, 2013 at 12:18 pm

Regardless of what school it happened at, the fact that it happened at all is outrageous. There is NO school that is unblemished by some sort of activity. What should piss people off is the fact that this girl was raped and to add insult to injury some stupid beotches have nerve to put her through even more stress. But of course there will always be idiots that have the covers over their eyes thinking that their son, daughter, friend etc is innocent and a “victim”. Yes a victim of their own actions. Fools!

    • vigilance on November 1, 2013 at 1:09 pm

She may have been “raped” by being fondled and that is a crime. But there us another crime that is down played. This young lady is dating a 21 year old man. Investigate that crime as well as the others. Statutory rape is also a crime and needs attention.

    • Morons on November 1, 2013 at 2:54 pm

She wasnt raped, it was a sexual assault. That could mean that they kissed her and she didnt want to. They could have slapped her butt and got that charge.

Jesus, people jump to the worst thing possible so easily. No one even knows what really happened.

  16. smh on November 1, 2013 at 3:06 pm

All these narcisstic people who think that they are without fault, sin, or even blame are the SAME PEOPLE WHO WOULD VOTE FOR DOUG GANSLER. Gansler’s action defines his character and he is probably the same type of people who think that they are better than the other criminal only because of his/her status. Granted Gansler is ONLY HUMAN as all of us. My point is we ALL make bad judgement but to deem those as misfits because of exposure and status is narcisstic and also profiling. Bad judgement calls exist in every strand of society to polarize it by demography is not and should not be tolerated. We all fall short as our children as well. So people have a conscience and STOP demonizing GMHS all entities in the educational system are criticized when you criticize their workplace. Think of the educators these teachers hate to hear the fact of person demonizing their pupils and the system they work under, their jobs are already tiresome and stressful they are worthy of praise .

  17. FYI on November 1, 2013 at 3:13 pm

The victim was not a girl

  18. smh on November 1, 2013 at 3:18 pm

When the parents at LHS, CHS, & SMR sponsor alcohol induced orgies and the police respond it is not put on the front page but allow me to inform you that it is a CRIME but almost never publicized or reported. So to think that there are kids at Ryken or the other two high who don’t drink or drug is ludicrous. They have mischief at the King’s Academy for if they didn’t they would not need a disciplinary system because misconduct doesn’t happen there. Smh

  19. really on November 4, 2013 at 5:49 am

You are all morons! I went to gmhs graduated in 1991. It was the same then and will always be like it. I had a good-great education there it’s all about who you are and how you were raised. Down blame the victim, she didn’t lay down and say here take what you want. She is doing what we teach all of our kids to do. Stand up for themselves. I am so sick of people blaming each other.. blame yourselves and teach your children respect.
