House Speaker John Boehner (R-OH) issued the following statement after President Obama signed the Drug Quality & Security Act (H.R. 3204) and the PREEMIE Reauthorization Act (S. 252) into law this afternoon:
“These two critical public health bills will help protect families against counterfeit drugs, strengthen efforts to help ensure babies born prematurely have a healthy start, and facilitate pediatric research to assist children with rare and genetic diseases. The work of the House will make a real difference in the lives of American families, and I thank Chairman Upton and his members on the Energy & Commerce Committee for their leadership.”
NOTE: Last week, with Chairman Upton on hand, Speaker Boehner signed enrolled copies of these bills.
