This year marks the 100th anniversary of the beginning of the “War to End All Wars” – World War The Chesapeake Choral Arts Society Pops concert will present an overview of the music that was popular during the era as well as iconic songs of wartime.

From Cohan to Irish Ballads, from “Keep the Home Fires Burning” to “The Battle Hymn of the Republic,” we will explore the beauty and humor of the times. Under the direction of Michael K. Santana, the Chorale is beginning a series of Pops concerts in tribute to the music of the some of the most trying times of our nation.

How did the music help a country survive the trials of war? How did a song inflame the patriotism of a nation? Come and join the Chesapeake Choral Arts Society as they explore these questions and sing along to well-known songs of the era.
