Charlotte MaryAnn Hesse (Schmidt), 91, of Temple Hills, MD passed away on Sun. Jan. 14, 2018.
Ms. Hesse was born on September 13, 1926 in Leopolis, WI to her parents Edmund and Rosetta Schmidt. The youngest of seven children, she later moved to and attended high school in Shawano, WI. In 1945 Ms. Hesse married her long time husband of 62 years, Arthur Hesse, a young officer in the USAAC. The following years she accompanied him on tours of duty to Alaska, California, Texas, and Ohio until finally settling in the Washington DC area in 1957.
Ms. Hesse was an avid golfer and played frequently at Andrews AFB golf course where she was once the women’s club champion and served as president of the Andrews Women’s Golf Association. Ms. Hesse was a devoted mother and homemaker. In her spare time she enjoyed painting, gardening, and sang in the choir at her local church.
Ms. Hesse is survived by her son, Scott Hesse, daughter-in-law, Patricia, and two grandchildren, Chris and Eric. She is proceeded in death by her husband, USAF Colonel Arthur Hesse, her 4 brothers Daniel, Carlton, Frederick, and Duane, and her two sisters Anita and Ruth.
Interment at Arlington National Cemetery at a later date.
