On Friday, November 20, 2020, at approximately 1:35 p.m., firefighters from Charles and St. Mary’s County responded to the area of 9025 Farmland Place in Charlotte Hall, for the reported combine harvester on fire with extensions to the surrounding field and woods.
Firefighters arrived on the scene to confirm one combine fully engulfed in a corn field with an approximate 40 x 60 foot area burning.
Due to the high winds in the area the fire was spreading rapidly into the nearby woods and cornfields.
Firefighters requested an additional two brush trucks bringing Bel Alton and Mechanicsville to the scene.
Units operated on the scene for approximately 45 minutes before returning to service.
No injuries were reported.
