Elizabeth (Liz) Mary Medved, 54, of Mechanicsville, Maryland, passed away peacefully with her family by her side, October 21, 2021. She was born in Cheverly, Maryland on November 6, 1966, to Denis Joseph Moriarty and Ellen Theresa Moriarty “McAuliffe”. She was one (1) of three (3) children.
She graduated from Elizabeth Seton High School in Bladensburg, Maryland and worked in a variety of administrative positions before starting her career as a U.S. Navy Operations Officer for the U.S Government. Admired by many for her dedication and work ethic, she was committed to excellence.
She often said that her husband of 27 years, Christopher Medved was the love of her life. Together, they raised three wonderful children, Erin, Denis, and Jack. The family divided their time between their homes in Mechanicsville, Maryland and Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. A water lover, you could find Liz on early mornings walking Finley, her beloved Boykin spaniel, along the beach.
Liz loved her family, her career, and people. She enjoyed cooking and entertaining. Never one to say no to someone in need, she opened her home for relaxation and fun.
To know Liz was to know a strong, loving, and caring wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. The bright spot she brought into the lives of those who knew Liz will be missed.
She is survived by her beloved husband Christopher Medved of Mechanicsville, Maryland; her daughter, Erin Robyn Sutton of Mechanicsville, Maryland; her sons, Denis Joseph Medved of Mechanicsville, Maryland, and Jack Nicholas Medved of Mechanicsville, Maryland; her sisters, Maureen Ann Moriarty of Mt. Airy, Maryland and Kathleen Theresa Tichnell of Pasadena, Maryland; and her three (3) wonderful grandchildren.
