Sarah Annie Ricketson, 93, of Mechanicsville, Maryland passed away on February 20, 2022 at Chesapeake Shores Nursing Center. She was born on April 6, 1928 in Bath, South Carolina to the late John Lewis Robertson and Martha Louise Devaney Robertson. She was preceded in death by her devoted husband William Ricketson and bothers Aaron, Jean and William Roberson and sister Muriel Robertson Allen.
Annie was a long time member and served both Pierce United Methodist Church and Mann Memorial United Methodist Church. She was a member of the United Methodist Women and enjoyed singing in the choir. She worked for Lily Cup, August Water Utility Co. on Peach Orchard Rd. and at the Masters Golf Tournament. She was known for her pear relish, black walnut poundcake and her special deviled eggs. Annie crocheted many beautiful afghans and baby blankets for friends and family.
She is survived by her daughter, Nancy Tuemler (Dan) Hayman of Marion, Ohio; son, Dave (Bonnie) Tuemler of Mechanicsville, Maryland; grandchildren, Dana (Bill) Daugherty of Ewa Beach, Hawaii, Lara (Shannon) Ritch of Phoenix, Arizona, SMSgt Joshua (Sarah) Hayman of Westerville, Ohio, Michael Jean (Lorraine) Tuemler and Jason Tuemler of Leonardtown, Maryland and eight great grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, gifts can be given to “Operation Buddy” at Mann Memorial United Methodist Church, 2705 Milledgeville Rd., Augusta, GA 30909. Burial will be in Augusta, Georgia.
