Tyler Gage Wathen, 19, of Lexington Park, pleaded guilty in St. Mary’s County Circuit Court to sexual solicitation of a minor and was later sentenced to 10 years in prison, with all but four years suspended, according to court records.

The charge was filed as a felony criminal indictment in the Circuit Court for St. Mary’s County. Court records show the case was filed on September 22, 2025, under the title State of Maryland vs. Tyler Gage Wathen. The listed offense date range was July 15, 2025, through August 31, 2025.

Court records show Wathen was charged with one count of sexual solicitation of a minor under Maryland criminal law. An arrest warrant was issued on September 22, 2025, by Judge Amy Lorenzini and was marked served on September 23, 2025.

A bail review hearing was held on September 24, 2025. Additional hearings followed on November 25, 2025, and January 9, 2026. On January 9, 2026, Wathen entered a guilty plea before Judge Amy Lorenzini. Court records show that after the plea, jury trial dates that had been scheduled for January 12, 2026, through January 16, 2026, were canceled.

After the guilty plea, the court ordered a pre-sentence investigation on January 9, 2026. An order for a psychological or psychiatric evaluation was filed on January 12, 2026. The docket later shows that a pre-sentence investigation was received on March 5, 2026, along with Maryland sentencing guidelines paperwork.

At a sentencing hearing on March 23, 2026, Judge Amy Lorenzini imposed a 10-year jail term. Court records state the court suspended all but four years of that sentence. Wathen was also ordered to serve five years of supervised probation after release. The case record also shows he must register as a Tier II sex offender.

The docket reflects several additional filings after sentencing, including a commitment record issued on March 23, 2026, a notice of registration for court supervised registrant on March 23, 2026, and a motion for reconsideration filed on March 24, 2026. An answer to that reconsideration request and an order were both also filed on March 24, 2026.
