On Saturday, March 28, 2026, at approximately 4:50 p.m., firefighters from Bay District, NAS Patuxent River, Second District and Hollywood responded to the rear of the 46000 block of Callas Way in Lexington Park, for the reported structure on fire.
911 callers reported the shed attached to the house behind their address was on fire.
Firefighters from Bay District and NAS Patuxent River arrived on the scene within minutes to find fire showing from the rear of the middle of the row townhome on Maria Way.
Crews stretched multiple attack lines and began extinguished the fire while performing searches of the involved residence, and evacuating the two joined units.
Thanks to the quick response and fire attack, crews controlled the fire in under 10 minutes and contained the damage to the exterior of the residence and attached shed.
No injuries were reported.
The Office of the Maryland State Fire Marshal responded to investigate the cause of the fire. SMECO responded to assist with securing power to the residence.
