On Wednesday, April 1, 2026, at approximately 12:21 a.m., Ridge Volunteer Fire Department was dispatched to Kinsale, Virginia for the reported large commercial structure fire.
Boat 4 responded and arrived at the the docks of the Perdue AgriBusiness – Kinsale Grain Elevator along the Yeocomico River in Westmoreland County and began assisting with water supply operations.
Ridge members operated on the scene for nearly 6 hours.
Firefighters in Virginia operated on the scene for over 20 hours. The Westmoreland County Sheriff’s Office released the following update at 9:30 p.m., All fire has been extinguished, and the incident is now fully under control. All fire, EMS, and law enforcement units have cleared the scene and are back in service at this time.

The evacuation order has been lifted, and evacuees may return to their residences. Please use caution when returning, as emergency personnel and equipment are still operating in the area.
