One Flown to Trauma Center After Serious Crash in Hughesville

On Tuesday, April 7, 2026, at approximately 2:55 p.m., police, firefighters and emergency medical services responded to the area of Leonardtown Road and Old Leonardtown Road in Hughesville, for the serious motor vehicle collision with one trapped.

Multiple 911 callers reported a serious collision with one unconscious and trapped.

Crews arrived on the scene to confirm one trapped with firefighters quickly beginning extrication and requested a helicopter to land nearby.

Maryland State Police Helicopter Trooper 2 landed nearby and transported the 45-year-old male to the R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center with serious injuries.

A second patient, a 25-year-old male, was transported to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Police are investigating the motor vehicle collision.
