On Sunday, April 12, 2026, at approximately 3:00 p.m., firefighters and emergency medical services responded to the 2000 block of Rosewood Drive in Waldorf, for the reported house on fire.

Crews arrived on the scene to find a two story residence with fire showing from the rear.

Firefighters made entry to find fire throughout on the second floor with extensions to the attic and garage.

Due to the volume of fire, conditions quickly intensified, and all interior crews were ordered to evacuate as operations transitioned to heavy-duty master streams. Before withdrawal, firefighters conducted a primary search of the structure, confirming no occupants remained inside.

Crews operated on the scene for over three hours.

One firefighter was transported by ambulance to the MedStar Trauma Center. A second firefighter was evaluated on the scene, however, they denied transport.

The American RedCross was requested to assist the 4 adults, 3 children, 1 cat and 3 dogs are displaced by the fire. The Office of the Maryland State Fire Marshal was requested to respond and investigate the cause of the fire.
