Elijah Dylan Miller, 21, of Washington, D.C., and Demetrius Malik Clarke, 22, of Fort Washington, are facing multiple felony charges including robbery, armed robbery, first- and second-degree assault, and theft following two incidents reported in Waldorf on April 21, 2026, according to court documents.
Miller is charged with robbery, armed robbery, second-degree assault, first-degree assault, and theft between $100 and $1,500. Clarke is charged with wearing a handgun on his person, wearing a handgun in a vehicle, robbery, armed robbery, second-degree assault, first-degree assault, use of a firearm in the commission of a felony or violent crime, and theft between $100 and $1,500.
According to court documents, the first incident occurred on April 21, 2026, at approximately 2:52 a.m. at a 7-Eleven on St. Ignatius Drive in Waldorf. Surveillance footage showed a black Chevrolet Cruze backing into a parking space before a suspect exited the passenger side and entered the store.
The suspect selected a drink, approached the counter, and asked for a tobacco product. The suspect then allegedly pulled out a black semi-automatic handgun with an extended magazine, pointed it at the employee, and demanded money. The employee opened the register, and the suspect took $1,363 before fleeing the store.

The suspect was described as a black male wearing a black mask, black hooded jacket, light jeans with tears, a long blue belt, black socks, and gray slides. The vehicle was seen leaving toward the Smallwood Village Center.
Later that day, at approximately 1:45 p.m., deputies with the Charles County Sheriff’s Office responded to a second armed robbery in the area of Gallery Place in Waldorf.
Two adult victims reported they were sitting in a parked vehicle when a suspect approached and asked to buy cannabis. After being told no, the suspect walked away, then returned and again asked to buy cannabis while using a cellphone.
According to court documents, a black Chevrolet Cruze then pulled up next to the victims. The suspect pointed a handgun with a drum magazine at them and took a Nike crossbody bag, a wallet containing approximately $200, a cellphone, and a Chrysler 300 key fob.
The victims followed the vehicle while calling the Charles County Sheriff’s Office. Deputies attempted to stop the vehicle, but it failed to stop, leading to a pursuit before the vehicle returned to Gallery Place. The driver and passenger exited and ran into an apartment building.
Investigators located the vehicle and observed a drum magazine accessory and a black crossbody bag on the front passenger floorboard. Multiple cellphones were also recovered. One phone displayed a message stating, “Lost iPhone This iPhone has been lost. Please call me.”
Deputies tracked the suspects to an apartment on Gallery Place. According to court documents, a woman initially told officers that only she and her children were inside, but later stated there were additional people in the apartment. When the door was partially opened, officers observed a male matching the suspect description. That individual was identified as Clarke and taken into custody. Court documents state Clarke “instantly requested a lawyer.”

During the execution of a search warrant, investigators located Miller hiding inside a utility closet behind a large metal system. Inside the closet, detectives found a black semi-automatic handgun with an extended magazine consistent with the weapon used in the 7-Eleven robbery. The firearm was reported stolen from Chesterfield, Virginia. Clothing matching the suspect’s description and approximately $1,143 in cash were also recovered.
According to court documents, Miller was advised of his rights and agreed to speak with investigators. Miller stated that the black Chevrolet Cruze “belonged to his girlfriend” and that he and Clarke traveled to the area to visit friends. He said he “brought Demetrius to the 7-11” and dropped him off while he went to a nearby parking lot and “sat there rolling blunts until Demetrius returned.”
Miller told investigators he saw Clarke with “a large sum of money” but believed it came from a bank account. When asked about the handgun, Miller stated he had seen Clarke with it before and had previously touched it.
Regarding the Gallery Place robbery, Miller stated Clarke contacted him asking for help. He said he drove to pick Clarke up, and Clarke exited the vehicle with a handgun equipped with a drum magazine “so that he could scare the group.” Miller stated Clarke took a bag from one of the victims and then returned to the vehicle.
Miller told detectives he drove away while the victims followed and later returned to Gallery Place, where he dropped Clarke off. He stated he continued driving to avoid the victims and later encountered police but “decided not to stop because he has had bad encounters with police.” He then ran into the apartment and hid in the utility closet.
Clarke was held without bond following his initial appearance, and court records state he is not to contact the adult victims or associate with Miller. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for May 19, 2026.
Miller was released on personal recognizance following a bail review hearing on April 23, 2026, after Judge Karen Friedman revised his bail, with conditions that he not engage in criminal activity and appear in court as required. A preliminary hearing for Miller is also scheduled for May 19, 2026, in District Court for Charles County.
