David Lee Anderson Jr., 31, of Lexington Park, is facing multiple charges including possession of contraband in a place of confinement and attempting to alter a drug or alcohol test, according to court documents filed in St. Mary’s County.
The charges stem from an incident on April 20, 2026, at Baldridge Street in Leonardtown, at the St. Mary’s Detention and Rehabilitation Center.
According to charging documents, deputies with the St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of a subject introducing contraband into the facility.
Court records state that Anderson arrived at the detention center lobby for a urinalysis as part of a pretrial agreement. Deputies reported that he was placed in handcuffs and searched before being escorted further into the building.
While being transported to a body scan room, an officer observed Anderson “attempting to shake something out of his shorts.”
According to the statement of probable cause, a corporal “observed a condom filled with suspected urine fall from the defendant’s shorts.” The documents further state, “The defendant tried to stop and pick up the condom, but [the officer] kept escorting him to the body scan room.”
Another officer later located the item near a trash can and reported finding “a condom filled with suspected urine with rubber band around the condom,” which was collected as evidence.
Investigators allege the item was intended to substitute a bodily fluid sample. Charging documents state Anderson “did with intent to alter the outcome of drug screening test, substitute bodily fluid sample with bodily fluid sample of another person to wit: urine.”
Authorities reported that Anderson was advised of his rights and declined to speak with investigators, with documents noting he “did not want to talk to us and invoked his Miranda rights.”Lexington Park Man Accused of Bringing Contraband Into Detention Center
