Trevia Symone Chase, 22, of Waldorf, is facing two counts of first-degree assault following an early morning incident on April 24, 2026, in Charles County, according to court documents.
Charging documents state that officers responded to a disturbance around 4:03 a.m. in the area of Smallwood Drive in Waldorf, where a group of people had gathered near a shopping plaza. According to the statement of probable cause, an officer working off-duty security reported hearing yelling and observed individuals moving around in a disorderly manner.
The officer reported being told that Chase had a knife and was threatening others. Court records state that Chase approached the officer “holding knife, shiny pointed blade approximate four inches long, in her fist with the point upward, holding the knife in front of her at chest level.” The officer then drew a service weapon and ordered her to drop the knife, which she did before being taken into custody.
According to court documents, two adult female victims were involved in the incident. One adult female victim told authorities that Chase held a knife to another adult female victim’s throat and threatened to stab her. The same victim reported that Chase then turned toward her and said she would stab her as well, causing her to back away out of fear.
The second adult female victim told officers that Chase approached her while swinging the knife and said, “I’m gonna stab you b##ch, I’m gonna stab you.”
Court records show that Chase has been formally charged with two counts of first-degree assault, each carrying a potential penalty of up to 25 years in prison.
