Man Transported to Hospital After Suspected Medical Emergency Results in Crash

On Friday, May 1, 2026, at approximately 12:50 p.m., police, firefighters and emergency medical services responded to the area of Pegg Road and Westbury Boulevard in Lexington Park, for the serious motor vehicle collision with one unconscious.

911 callers reported a single vehicle into the guardrail with the operator unconscious after a possible overdose.

Police first arrived to find the operator unconscious and pressing vehicles accelerator down. Deputies were able to turn the vehicle off and began rendering medical aid and administered NARCAN prior to the arrival of fire and rescue personnel.

Firefighters from the Bay District Volunteer Fire Department Station 3 responded with 8 personnel and arrived to find the vehicle against the guardrail with the operator still unconscious.

Due to accessibility issues and the patient being unconscious, crews removed the passenger doors and roof.

While extricating the victim, he suffered a seizure, became conscious and began fighting First Responders.

The victim was removed from the vehicle within 15 minutes and transferred to the care of EMS.

EMS transported the adult male to an area hospital for further evaluation.

Police are investigating the collision, which is suspected to be caused by a medical emergency.
