5/4/2026: Takwon Demarion Mason, 21, of Waldorf, is facing multiple firearm-related charges after being arrested in Charles County in connection with a vehicle linked to a reported shooting in a neighboring county.

According to court documents, Mason has been charged with altering a firearm identification number, carrying a loaded handgun, illegal possession of a firearm following a prior conviction, and wearing or carrying a handgun.

The charges stem from an incident on May 4, 2026, when deputies with the Charles County Sheriff’s Office responded to a lookout request from the Calvert County Sheriff’s Office for a silver Ford Focus believed to be involved in a shooting. The vehicle was located in the parking lot of Business Park Court in Waldorf, where multiple individuals were standing nearby, according to charging documents.

Investigators reported that as deputies arrived, several individuals began walking toward the vehicle. Officers ordered the group to the ground, and Mason was identified as one of the individuals. According to court records, Mason did not immediately comply but eventually followed commands and was taken into custody.

Charging documents state that when asked if he had any weapons, Mason told officers he had a handgun. Deputies recovered a 9mm Taurus G3C firearm from his waistband. Authorities noted that the firearm’s serial number had been removed and that the weapon contained hollow-point ammunition.

Further investigation revealed that Mason had a prior conviction in 2023 that prohibits him from legally possessing a firearm, according to the documents.

Court records also indicate that the Calvert County Sheriff’s Office is pursuing a warrant charging Mason with three counts of attempted homicide related to a shooting that occurred prior to his arrest in Charles County.
