Krystal Marie Davis, 23, of Waldorf; Damar Malik Abney, 23, of Waldorf; Takwon Demarion Mason, 21, of Waldorf; and Quentin Antoine Harley Jr., 24, of Lusby, have been charged in connection with a May 3, 2026 shooting investigation in Lusby that investigators say involved a drive-by shooting followed by retaliatory gunfire during a vehicle pursuit through Calvert County.
All four suspects face three counts of attempted first-degree murder, three counts of first-degree assault, and use of a firearm in the commission of a felony or violent crime, according to court documents.
Deputies with the Calvert County Sheriff’s Office responded at approximately 10:56 p.m. on May 3, 2026, to H.G. Trueman Road in Lusby for a reported shooting. Investigators said they found 19 spent 9mm shell casings in the roadway and discovered bullet damage to the home’s front door and front window. An adult male victim, an adult female victim, and a 3-year-old child were inside the residence during the shooting, according to investigators. No injuries were reported.
Court records state the adult female victim told detectives she received a text message before the shooting that read, “Apparently mar coming to shoot house up at 11:30 if don’t give him the key.” Detectives identified “Mar” as Abney, Davis’ boyfriend. The adult female victim told investigators the dispute centered around a key to Davis’ apartment allegedly still possessed by Harley Jr.

According to charging documents, the adult female victim said Davis had repeatedly attempted to get her and Harley Jr. to come to Davis’ Waldorf residence and that tensions between them dated back months. She told detectives she went to the area of Davis’ apartment earlier that evening and fought Davis around 6 p.m. on May 3, 2026. The adult female victim stated she fought Davis because Davis had previously threatened her daughter. She also told investigators that “afterwards everything was fine” and that “‘Q’ and ‘Mar’ talked after the fight to resolve the issues between them.”
Investigators used license plate reader data to track a gray Ford Focus registered to Davis traveling toward Calvert County shortly before the shooting and leaving the area shortly afterward. Detectives also tracked Harley Jr.’s vehicle following the suspect vehicle westbound on Route 231. Court documents state Harley Jr. pursued the suspects after the shooting and allegedly fired at their vehicle before the Benedict Bridge in Prince Frederick.
Detectives later used cellphone location data tied to Davis to locate the suspects at the Wingate Hotel on Business Park Court in Waldorf shortly after 1 a.m. on May 4, 2026. Deputies with the Charles County Sheriff’s Office detained Davis, Abney, and Mason in the hotel parking lot. Investigators said Mason was found carrying a Taurus G3C 9mm handgun with an obliterated serial number. Detectives also reported finding a box of Federal Premium 9mm ammunition and a spent shell casing inside Davis’ vehicle.

Damar Malik Abney, 23, of Waldorf
During a recorded interview with detectives, Davis confirmed she and Abney were dating and acknowledged ongoing problems with Harley Jr. dating back to February 2026. According to court documents, Davis told investigators she felt Harley Jr. “didn’t want to let her go” and was “disrespectful to her and their child.” She also claimed the adult female victim had disrespected her deceased brother and their child.
Investigators said Davis initially claimed she did not know exactly where the adult female victim lived and stated she had been “riding around” with a friend before going to a hotel. When detectives confronted her about the shooting investigation, Davis reportedly began crying and stated, “I just wanted my key.” She later admitted driving to the Lusby residence using cellphone navigation to retrieve the key after receiving threats about people “running in my house.”
According to charging documents, Davis told detectives Abney sat in the front passenger seat and Mason sat in the rear passenger seat while she drove to H.G. Trueman Road. She stated the vehicle stopped with the passenger side facing the residence. Detectives wrote that Davis did not identify who fired shots from inside the car but admitted driving the vehicle during the shooting. Davis also confirmed the suspects’ vehicle was later shot at during the pursuit on Route 231.

Takwon Demarion Mason, 21, of Waldorf
Abney also participated in a recorded interview with detectives after being advised of his Miranda rights. Investigators wrote that Abney initially claimed he was “sleep” and “didn’t know anything of what was going on.” He later stated, “I just know we just came to get the keys, and we didn’t get them.” When detectives asked what happened at the house, Abney replied, “I don’t remember.”
According to court records, Abney denied shooting at the residence but admitted traveling there to retrieve the keys. Detectives wrote that Abney stated Harley Jr. had made threats against him before they drove to Lusby. When detectives asked whether he shot at the home to scare Harley Jr., Abney responded, “You keep saying I did that. It was just all about the keys, just wanted the keys, wanted peace.” Investigators also reported Abney stating, “It didn’t have to escalate like everything that happened,” and later saying, “We just talked about it,” when asked what led to the shooting.
Mason also gave a recorded statement after detectives advised him of his rights. Investigators wrote that Mason initially denied ever being in Calvert County on May 3, 2026, and claimed he had been “sleep” at his Waldorf home around the time of the shooting. According to detectives, Mason later admitted he rode with the group to retrieve the key and “fell asleep.”
During the interview, Mason allegedly told detectives, “Aint nobody else gun but mine” while discussing the firearm recovered during his arrest. Ballistics testing later linked the handgun recovered from Mason to shell casings found at the Lusby shooting scene, according to charging documents. Investigators stated analysis through the National Integrated Ballistics Information Network determined two firearms were used during the shooting.
Court records show Davis and Abney were ordered held without bond following their initial appearances in Calvert County District Court. Mason was also ordered held without bond in Charles County District Court.
