Tiffany Michelle Eckloff, 36, of Great Mills, is facing four charges in St. Mary’s County District Court, including possession of a controlled dangerous substance other than cannabis, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of contraband in a place of confinement, and possession or receipt of a controlled dangerous substance while confined or detained, according to court documents.

According to charging documents filed in District Court for St. Mary’s County, Deputy Caitlyn Stanbury of the St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office responded at about 8:48 p.m. on May 1, 2026, to Saint Johns Circle in Great Mills for the initial report of a domestic disturbance. Court documents state that emergency communications advised the caller, identified as Eckloff, had three outstanding warrants through the agency. Deputies confirmed the warrants after arriving and took Eckloff into custody.

Deputy Stanbury wrote that Eckloff was searched before being placed in a marked patrol vehicle and that no controlled substances or paraphernalia were found at that time. After arriving at the St. Mary’s County Detention and Rehabilitation Center on Baldridge Street in Leonardtown, Eckloff was asked whether she had any controlled substances or paraphernalia on or in her person before entering the secured facility. According to court documents, she denied having any.

Once inside the secured facility, a correctional officer conducted a strip search and allegedly found a small red plastic straw with white powder residue on both ends in Eckloff’s right sock. Court documents state that the correctional officer advised that Eckloff said the straw was used for “Benzo.”

At about 10:40 p.m., Deputy Stanbury wrote that Eckloff was read her Miranda rights and agreed to speak. When asked why she had not disclosed the straw in her sock, Eckloff allegedly said she had a lot going on and “forgot.” Court documents state that Eckloff said she had been in a verbal altercation and took Xanax prescribed to her with the straw. She allegedly said that when she takes her Xanax, she crushes it up, turns it into “liquid,” and drinks it through the straw.

The charging documents describe the suspected substance as alleged benzodiazepines/Xanax and identify the paraphernalia as a plastic straw with white powder residue. The listed incident location for the alleged contraband and drug possession offenses is the St. Mary’s County Detention and Rehabilitation Center on Baldridge Street in Leonardtown.

Court records show Eckloff appeared before a District Court commissioner on May 2, 2026. The initial appearance report states that she was released on personal recognizance with a $0 bond and ordered not to engage in criminal conduct and to appear in court when notified.
