On Monday, May 18, 2026, at approximately 1:30 p.m., police, firefighters and emergency medical services responded to the area of Point Lookout Road and Potato Hill Farm Lane in Leonardtown, for the serious motor vehicle collision with one unconscious.
Crews arrived on the scene to find a two vehicle T-bone style collision and confirmed one victim was unconscious with serious injuries.
EMS requested a helicopter to land nearby.
Maryland State Police Aviation Command Trooper 7 landed nearby.
One patient was evaluated for minor injuries.
The second patient was flown by Trooper 7 to an area trauma center with serious injuries.
A third vehicle was parked and unoccupied when struck. No other injuries were reported.
Deputies from the St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office responded and are investigating the collision.
