Chalon N. Miles, 22, of Great Mills, is charged with resisting or interfering with arrest and two counts of second-degree assault after St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a reported domestic disturbance on Oriole Drive in Great Mills on May 21, 2026, according to District Court documents.

Court records list the charges against Miles as one misdemeanor count of resisting or interfering with arrest and two misdemeanor counts of second-degree assault. The charging documents say the incident occurred at a residence on Oriole Drive in Great Mills, where deputies had been sent for a report of a domestic disturbance.

According to the statement of probable cause, a deputy reported that before arriving, law enforcement was told Miles had assaulted a family member inside the residence. When deputies entered the home, Miles was described as visibly upset and talking about family members lying to her. The court document says family members were behind the deputies during the initial contact when Miles allegedly said, “AND THEY WANT TO CALL THE POLICE BECAUSE THEY ARE FU##ING SCARED. F##K YOU,” before attempting to move through the deputies toward the family members.

The statement says deputies used force to detain Miles and that she allegedly resisted by pulling her arms and body away. The encounter went to the ground, where Miles is accused of kicking one deputy in the left leg and another deputy in the left knee.

After the arrest, Miles was transported to MedStar St. Mary’s Hospital, where court documents say an emergency petition was conducted. After that process was completed, she was taken to the St. Mary’s County Detention and Rehabilitation Center at about 12:26 a.m. on May 22, 2026.

At an initial appearance later on May 22, 2026, Miles was found eligible for court-appointed representation for that proceeding and was represented remotely by a court-appointed attorney. Court records show she was released on personal recognizance with no bail amount set.

As conditions of release, the court ordered Miles not to engage in criminal conduct, to appear in court when notified, and not to intimidate, abuse, or threaten the two deputies listed as victim/witnesses in the case.
