On Saturday, May 30, 2026, at approximately 6:40 p.m., police, firefighters and emergency medical services responded to the intersection of Point Lookout Road and Great Mills Road in Lexington Park, for the reported motor vehicle collision involving a motorcycle.
Crews arrived on the scene to find a motorcyclist was struck by a pickup truck, with one adult and one child suffering injuries.
Aviation was requested for both patients after consultation and evaluation.
Maryland State Police Aviation Command Troopers 2 and Trooper 7 landed at the St. Mary’s County Regional Airport to meet both ambulances.
The adult patient was flown to the MedStar Washington Hospital Center by Trooper 2.
The 12-year-old female was flown to Children’s National Hospital with injuries, she was conscious alert and breathing.
Flight medics advised both occupants were ejected from the motorcycle, with the child having one limb trapped under the pickup truck after the collision occurred.
