A Severe Thunderstorm Warning is in effect until 8:30 p.m. EDT for portions of St. Mary’s County, Calvert, Charles, Anne Arundel and Prince George’s counties
The storm was located near Coles Point, or near Tall Timbers, and moving east at 15 mph.
Hazards include:
- Wind gusts up to 60 mph
- Hail up to 0.75 inches
- Possible downed trees and tree limbs
- Possible blocked roadways
- Possible power outages
Residents in the warned area should move to an interior room on the lowest floor now and stay away from windows.
A Severe Thunderstorm Watch remains in effect for St. Mary’s County and several other Maryland counties until 11:00 p.m. EDT. Current conditions in St. Mary’s County show thunderstorms continuing this evening.
