Stacey Lynn Wilkinson, 38, of Lexington Park
Stacey Lynn Wilkinson, 38, of Lexington Park, was charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance that was not cannabis, driving under the influence of alcohol, driving while impaired by alcohol, driving while so far impaired by drugs or drugs and alcohol that she could not drive safely, and throwing refuse on a highway after an early-morning traffic stop in Lexington Park on June 3, 2025.
According to filings from the case, a deputy with the St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office reported seeing a 2005 silver Buick Century traveling on Pegg Road near Pegg Lane with improper license plate illumination. The deputy activated emergency equipment to make a traffic stop. While following the vehicle, authorities said the driver threw an item out the window and onto the roadway. Another deputy later found the item and identified it as trash, described as pizza crust.
The Buick stopped near Pegg Road and Ronald Drive, about a quarter-mile from where the deputy first signaled for the driver to pull over. Wilkinson was identified as the driver and sole occupant.
Deputy Senator and K-9 Karma responded to the stop and conducted a scan around the vehicle. Authorities said the K-9 alerted to the vehicle, leading deputies to search it. During the search, a deputy reported finding a clear container in the center console that contained white powder residue. The deputy wrote that, based on training and experience, the residue was identified as cocaine.
While the vehicle was being searched, Wilkinson was standing near a patrol vehicle with another deputy. Authorities said she spontaneously stated she was “intoxicated.” When asked about that statement, Wilkinson allegedly said, “A little bit.” She also reportedly said she had consumed “a couple drinks,” later clarifying that meant “two drinks.” When asked what she drank, Wilkinson said “Amsterdam,” which the deputy identified as a vodka brand. She also said she drank it straight, answering “yes,” and said her last drink had been about “30 minutes ago.”
The deputy reported that Wilkinson had slurred speech, constricted pupils and a moderate odor of alcohol on her breath. She agreed to take standardized field sobriety tests. During those tests, authorities said she moved her head multiple times during the eye test and had to be reminded to keep still. During the walk-and-turn test, the deputy reported that she had difficulty maintaining balance, stepped off line, missed heel-to-toe steps, raised her arms, and took 23 steps in one direction without turning around. During the one-leg stand test, she put her foot down, swayed, used her arms for balance and, after trying again, put her foot down almost immediately and said, “I’m done.”
A preliminary breath test showed a reported blood alcohol concentration of 0.165. Authorities said Wilkinson later refused further testing after an advice-of-rights audio recording was played. She was arrested and taken to the St. Mary’s County Rehabilitation and Detention Center.
