Jennifer Lynn Soper-Carter, 44, of North Beach, has been charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance other than cannabis and possession of drug paraphernalia after investigators said they found items with suspected cocaine residue during a search at a North Beach home.
The charges stem from an investigation on June 10, 2026, involving members of the Calvert County Sheriff’s Office Drug Enforcement Unit. According to the allegations, deputies first conducted a traffic stop involving Adolfo Olguin in the area of Plum Point Road in Huntingtown. Investigators said the stop led to probable cause for Olguin’s arrest and a search warrant for a home on 2nd Street in North Beach. A judge signed the warrant at about 10 p.m., and members of the Drug Enforcement Unit and the Calvert County Special Operations Unit served it at about 11 p.m.
During the search, deputies made contact with Soper-Carter, who was taken into custody without incident, according to the allegations. Investigators said she confirmed her identity and identified which room in the house was hers. A search of that room allegedly turned up two cut straws with white powder residue and two black plastic “tear offs” with white powder residue. Investigators also reported finding a small handgun in the bedroom that was registered to Soper-Carter and said it was taken for safekeeping.
The Calvert County Sheriff’s Office alleged that the “tear offs” are commonly used to store cocaine for personal use. The statement of charges identifies the substance involved as cocaine and lists the paraphernalia as cut straws with white powder residue, allegedly used to inhale cocaine.
After being read her rights, Soper-Carter initially said she did not use cocaine, according to the allegations. Investigators said she later told Det. DeLeon that she “parties” with Olguin. She also allegedly stated that she last used cocaine about two weeks earlier and that it had been supplied by Olguin.
Soper-Carter also told investigators that she had been renting the room since November 2025, but said any paraphernalia in the room was not hers and may have belonged to previous tenants. She further stated that her only belongings in the room were in the dresser, where investigators said one of the two cut straws with residue was located.
Soper-Carter was transported to the Calvert County Detention Center. At an initial appearance on June 11, 2026, she was released on her own recognizance with conditions that she not engage in criminal activity and appear in court as required. She waived an attorney for the initial appearance only, according to the initial appearance paperwork.
