Stacy Lynn Martin, 35, of Waldorf
Stacy Lynn Martin, 35, of Waldorf, has been charged with first-degree assault and second-degree assault after authorities said she allegedly strangled an adult female victim during a domestic incident on Caroline Circle in Waldorf on June 24, 2026.
According to documents filed in District Court for Charles County, a deputy with the Charles County Sheriff’s Office responded at about 5:36 p.m. for a reported domestic assault. When the deputy arrived, the adult female victim said Martin, identified as her daughter, had strangled her.
The victim told the deputy that Martin “is an alcoholic” and that she had heard Martin “screaming in her room.” The victim said she went upstairs to address the situation and reached across a bed to grab alcohol when Martin allegedly grabbed her by the throat.
The victim reported that she “couldn’t breathe” and “thought she might pass out” while trying to get Martin off of her, according to the filing. She told the deputy she was able to separate herself from Martin and called 911. She also said she did not lose consciousness.
The deputy reported seeing visible marks on the victim’s neck. The victim also said Martin had been living with her at the residence for about one month after leaving rehab. Authorities said Martin was identified through her Maryland driver’s license photo.
Martin initially was ordered held without bond after a judicial officer found there was a reasonable likelihood she posed a danger to the alleged victim, another person, or the community. She waived an attorney for her initial appearance, and the waiver applied only to that proceeding.
At a bail review hearing on June 25, 2026, Martin was released on recognizance with no bail amount set. She was ordered to appear in court as directed and not engage in criminal activity while the case is pending.
A court date was scheduled for July 17, 2026, in Charles District Court.
