Deanna Mae Hamilton, lovingly known as Dee, 83, of Huntingtown, Maryland, passed away on June 25, 2026. A beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, sister, and cherished friend, Dee was the heart of her family, offering unwavering love, wisdom, and kindness to all who knew her.
Dee was born on March 3, 1943, in Washington, DC, to Frank Deen Evans and Susanna Mae Kernahan.
Throughout her life, Dee was devoted to her family and took great pride in her work as a skilled business office manager, known for her attention to detail, integrity, and reliability. Her creativity was evident in her beautiful knitting and crocheting projects, which she generously shared with loved ones and local charities. She especially treasured making handmade baby blankets for each newborn grandchild and great-grandchild.
Her faith was an essential part of her life. Dee was baptized again on April 30, 2023, at Emmanuel Church in Huntingtown. Dee joyfully sang in the church choir at Huntingtown United Methodist and faithfully directed the handbell choir for 36 years, inspiring others with her devotion, musical talent, and generous spirit.
Dee treasured spending time with friends and family, especially during lively games of cards especially the Hand, Knee and Foot card game and bingo, participated in many events with the Tri-County Cruisers Rod & Custom Car Club, and gatherings at the Calvert Elks Lodge which she was a member for many years. She brought laughter, warmth, and joy wherever she went, and her gentle spirit will be missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her.
Though she is no longer with us, Dee’s legacy of love, faith, friendship, creativity, and joyful living will remain in our hearts forever.
Dee is survived by her sisters, Sandra Adams-Choate of Purcellville, VA, and Pamela LeFave of Tewksbury, MA; her children, Catherine “Cathi” Sue Williams (Jimi Hamor) of Huntingtown, MD, Robert Deen Williams (Sandi) of Cambridge, MD, Terresa “Terry” Mae Jenkins (late husband Michael) of Gambrills, MD, and Wesley Winter Williams (Mary) of Huntingtown, MD; her grandchildren, Jennifer Weitzel (Mike), Jeremiah Fox (Rachel), Julia Bowen, Amanda Cook (Matt), Jacob Williams (Tiana), Michael Jenkins, and Jessica Williams; 20 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Dee was preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Sheila Doreen Evans; and her grandsons, Johnny Bowen and Brandon Williams.
A memorial service honoring Dee’s life will be held at Emmanuel Church, 3800 Old Town Rd Huntingtown, MD 20639. Visitation at 10 AM. Service to start at 11 AM followed by an Interment at Miranda Cemetery. Fellowship gathering after back at the church. Everyone is welcome to gather to pay tribute and share stories.
