Deontre Dwayne Bradshaw, 39, of Lexington Park, is facing two counts of possessing a controlled dangerous substance that was not cannabis and one count of possession with intent to distribute after a traffic stop in Solomons on July 2, 2026.
According to Maryland State Police, a trooper was conducting speed enforcement on Creston Lane while monitoring southbound traffic on MD Route 4 at about 10:45 a.m. The trooper reported seeing a dark-colored sedan traveling above the posted 45 mph speed limit and wrote that a Pro Laser device recorded the vehicle at 62 mph. The vehicle was described as a gray Toyota Corolla with Virginia registration.
The stop took place on MD Route 4 south of Creston Lane in Solomons. Police said Bradshaw was the driver and sole occupant of the vehicle. In the officer’s written account, the trooper stated, “During the traffic stop I observed criminal indicators and then requested a K-9 unit to respond to my location to conduct a scan of the vehicle.” A K-9 unit from the Calvert County Sheriff’s Office responded, and police said the scan resulted in a positive alert.
During a search of the vehicle, police reported finding one plastic bag containing one round white pill suspected to be oxycodone hydrochloride in the center console. Police also reported finding a plastic bag containing a larger quantity of a white powdery substance suspected to be cocaine in a driver-side compartment.
The suspected cocaine weighed 1.94 ounces, or approximately 55 grams, according to the trooper. Police also reported finding a cell phone in the vehicle, and a search after Bradshaw’s arrest allegedly turned up a second cell phone and $102 in cash.
The charges identify the alleged substances as cocaine and oxycodone hydrochloride. Bradshaw is charged with possession of cocaine, possession of oxycodone hydrochloride, and possession of cocaine with intent to distribute.
Bradshaw was arrested at about 11:40 a.m. on July 2, 2026. At his initial appearance later that day, he was ordered held without bond. The initial appearance paperwork states that he waived an attorney for that hearing only and was advised of his right to counsel.
A bail review was held on July 6, 2026, and bond was later set at $5,000 percentage bond. A $500 cash bond was posted the same day, and Bradshaw was released from commitment. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for August 5, 2026, in Calvert District Court.
