Delores Ann Coates, 89, of Solomons, Maryland, passed away peacefully on July 8, 2026.

Born on June 27, 1937, in Washington, D.C., Delores was the beloved daughter of George E. DeGrasse and Agnes DeGrasse, both of whom preceded her in death. She spent her childhood in Pleasant Springs, Maryland, where she developed the enduring values of faith, family, and hard work that would guide her throughout her life.

Delores shared the love of her life with her husband, Robert D. Coates, who preceded her in death. Their marriage was marked by deep love and devotion, and together they built a family that remained the center of Delores’ world. She was later married to Clarence M. Evans, who also preceded her in death.

Above all, Delores was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She is lovingly survived by her four children: Susan Eckley and her husband, Richard, Robert Coates III and his wife, Wendy, Amy Moreland and her husband, Dale, and Catherine Heberle and her husband, John “Jay” Heberle. She also leaves behind seven cherished grandchildren and eleven beloved great-grandchildren, each of whom brought her immeasurable joy and pride.

Delores lived a life rooted in faith, love, and kindness. Her unwavering trust in God sustained her through life’s joys and challenges, providing strength, hope, and peace each day. She touched countless lives through her compassion, generosity, gentle spirit, and unconditional love. Though her presence will be deeply missed, her family finds comfort in knowing she has been reunited with those who went before her and now rests in God’s eternal embrace.

Family and friends are invited to celebrate Delores’ life during a visitation on Monday, July 13, 2026, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Rausch Funeral Home in Lusby, Maryland. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, July 14, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church in Solomons, Maryland. Interment will be private.

The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to all who cared for Delores and offered their love, prayers, and support throughout her life. Her legacy of faith, compassion, and devotion to family will continue to inspire all who were blessed to know and love her.
